Mon, Tues and Wed, May 2, 3 and 4

Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Today, we finished the reading and the notesheets for U6Act3: Electromagnetic Spectrum.  If you were out, do the following:
Add “ and Properties of Light” to the title of U6Act3  at the top.
Complete the two pages of photocopied readings on your own and tape the two pages of notesheets to page 96 and 97 in your journal and finish filling in the blanks using the information in the readings.

Today, we summarized lesson U6Act1 on the connections pages.  Copy the following summary to your connections pages, page 90 and 91:
U6Act1: Kinds of waves:
All Waves can be classified as either transverse (oscillations perpendicular to direction of travel) or longitudinal (oscillations parallel to direction of travel).

Also, we continued to work on completing the notesheets on waves and light: If you were out, get a copy of the two notesheets that we were working on today and tape them into your journals on pages 96 and 97.  Get copies of the two handouts with the readings that go along with the notes, and read page 305 from the heading “Waves” to the end of the page, then complete the notesheet.

Next, read page 308 from the heading  “Light to the bottom of the page, including the speaking bubble towards the bottom that starts “The shorter the wavelength,... “

Complete the notesheet with the blank for your name on it (the other one doesn’t have a blank for your name) down to the heading  that says “Visible Light”.  After you have finished the notes, see me for the key.
